Ronnie Riley (they/them) is a queer, nonbinary, neurodiverse, disabled author based in Ontario, Canada. They love tea, chocolate, and a cat (or six) nearby while they are writing or reading. Ronnie writes books they wish they had as a kid, featuring queer characters, friendship, and hope. Their stories are contemporary, allowing kids to see themselves as they are in the real world.
Ronnie created LGBTNPit, an annual twitter pitch event for queer, trans, and nonbinary authors using the hashtag #lgbtnpit.
They are a Special Event Manager, who graduated with honours from George Brown College. It comes in handy for writing since they meet so many interesting real-life characters.
Writing, watching TV, and reading books are some of Ronnie’s favourite hobbies. They love digging themselves into a new world and forgetting reality for a while. You’ll find a list of shows they’ve watched here and books read here.
Ronnie enjoys crafting of all sorts, particularly loom-knitting warm hats, sewing cat toys and lavender heating pads, and cross stitching. They love fiddling around with graphic design, websites, and creating resources for educational purposes.
They have four cats: Tilly, Darcy, Charlie, and Reggie. They have a cattagram where they post photos of their cats, their girlfriend’s cats (Minnie and Sophie), a stray they feed (Frankie), and other cats they meet on their adventures.
